OH: Significant Changes to Unitization Guidelines

By Greg Russell

The Division of Oil and Gas Resources Management has recently updated its website to provide more information on the unitization process in Ohio and amended its unitization guidelines (revision date May 8, 2014).  Among the more significant changes:  "All applications are due to the Division one hundred twenty (120) days prior to a posted hearing date."  (Emphasis in original.)  The latter change comes only a week after the Division updated its guidelines to provide for a 60-day window (see the guideline revisions dated May 1, 2014).

We recommend you review it all.

(Note:  The Division has eliminated its scheduled hearing dates for July and August 2014.)
