Ohio EPA Issues Revised Oil & Gas Well Site General Permits

By Ryan Elliott

On April 4, 2014, Ohio EPA issued revised General Permits (GPs) for sources of air emissions at oil and gas well sites.  Ohio EPA revised the existing GP 12 (for well sites) and GP 5.1 (for unpaved roadways) to incorporate new rule requirements, including U.S. EPA's New Source Performance Standards for the oil and gas industry (40 CFR Part 60, Subpart OOOO).  The revised GPs, which replace the existing GP 12 and GP 5.1, and supporting documentation can be found on Ohio EPA's website.
