Discussing a report on 2009 activity: "The state's production numbers were roughly on par with prior years, but drilling applications — which observers say is a good way to gauge the state of the industry — plummeted last year, according to the Oklahoma Corporation's annual report on oil and gas activity in the state for 2009."
