Susquehanna River Basin Rulemaking
The Susquehanna River Basin Commission has adopted several amendments to its regulations governing approval of E&P projects targeting the Marcellus and Utical shale formations and involving the withdrawal, diversion or consumptive use of waters of the Susequehanna River Basin. Effective January 1, 2009, the new rules require - among other things - use of the approval-by-rule process for consumptive water uses associated with these projects.
